You can take the "VMware SVGA 3D (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM)" drive from a Windows 7 install and install it under Windows XP however while it will install it will Code 39 and not load the driver after installing it. The path showing the VMware KB it obviously not correct even though it was last updated Jul 21, 2011. There is no VMware SVGA 3D (WDDM) Driver for Windows XP.

I will try to download the VMware Workstation Trial and then we'll see.ĮDIT: Okay, I have installed VMware Workstation, started the VM and reinstalled VMware Tools, but the "wddm_video" folder still doesn't show up. Maybe it's because I only have the VMware Player. I can't find this folder on my VM (only the folder "video"). To locate the drivers, browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\Drivers\wddm_video\ on the hard disk." "To install a WDDM or XPDM driver go to Control Panel > Device Manager of the installed Windows operating system.
